With 20 years collective icon design experience and expertise, our small team has helped some of the largest and most respected companies deliver exceptional, highly intuitive, and visually stunning software. Our experience in producing highly uniform, and cleverly designed icons will enhance your application's user interface and make it top of it's class for aesthetics and usability. Project & Creative Director, Jody Pfohl, has greatly refined his icon designing skills over the past 10+ years to develop systematic and distinct professional icons that enhance user recognition and overall software usability and productivity.</p> <div id="line"></div> <span class="titletext">JODY PFOHL - Contact Jody</span><br /> <span class="smalltext">Principal / Creative Director / Icon Designer</span> <p>An experienced project and creative director, Jody Pfohl's observant and thoughtful attention to customers' needs has earned loyalty from Westcoast Icons' clients. By designing professional custom software icons on budget and on time, we continue to exceed our clients' objectives. Jody's most notable accomplishments to date is the challenge he took on for Microsoft. He personally created the new icon design style for the Microsoft Office 2003 software suite. He also produced 99% of the icons (Not 100% due to time constraints) for the majority of the Office 2003 suite and managed the project from concept to completion. This project required bringing the Office software family into a more contemporary business oriented look and feel. The icons still needed to be familiar to existing users while being updated to somewhat of a Windows XP flavor. They were also able to utilize the new 32 bit color technology that had just recently become possible within Windows XP. Icons were designed and produced for applications such as Microsoft Word 2003, Excel 2003, Outlook 2003, FrontPage 2003, Publisher 2003, Small Business Accounting, OneNote 2003, InfoPath 2003, Access 2003, PowerPoint 2003, and many other Microsoft applications.</p> <p>Other larger companies he has worked with directly or indirectly include MacAffee, Blast Radius, WelchAllyn, ADP (Automated Data Processing), Nike, Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Deloitte, Symantec, Avon, RIM (Research in Motion), Equisys, Corbel and Sybase.</p> <p>Jody leverages his background with all forms of marketing and visual communications and brings nearly 15 years experience to Westcoast Icons and Design. He graduated from the highly respected Sheridan College of Applied Arts in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a 3 year diploma specializing in Graphic Design and Visual Communications. Prior to the beginnings of Westcoast Icons & Design, Jody worked in areas as diverse as corporate identity, magazine layout, retail packaging design, entertainment marketing and web development.</p> <p>Clients trust Jody Pfohl to bring a major focus to the team by enhancing each product's user interface with well crafted and experienced solutions. An equal emphasis on experienced icon design, usability, creativity, and technical know-how allows him to keep Westcoast Icons & Design the premier icon design and icon consulting company.</p> <p>When not designing icons, he can be found somewhere in British Columbia mountain biking or teaching a skills camp, skiing, or just hiking with his better half. He also volunteers with various local Vancouver Island youth and adult based organizations.</p> <div id="line"></div> <span class="titletext">CHRIS RUFFELL - Contact Chris</span><br /> <span class="smalltext">Icon Designer / Creative Production Artist / Web Guru</span> <p>Chris Ruffell brings a singular focus to the team: To enhance each product's user interface with thoughtfully crafted icons for it's specific user base. He is a creative thinker and has over eight years experience dedicated to the graphic design vocation. Chris's keen eye for graphical balance, composition, and colour brings out designs that are second to none. His aptitude for learning has propelled him further into the world of new media creation and icon design.</p> <p>Chris' community involvement is that he is an active part of the Independent film and video community as well as he volunteers for a local youth mountain bike group.</p></div>
